“False” Custard – a cheap Alternative
This recipe has been optimized for the Thermomix® TM31
Who doesn’t know it: Visitors announce themselves spontaneously – or you forgot to do your shopping – and there is simply no custard to accompany your apple strudel, pudding, waffles or red fruits. There’s only one thing to do: improvise.
I’ll show you a quick and easy alternative for a custard. It doesn’t need a vanilla bean, just vanilla sugar. This makes it inexpensive and very quickly conjured.
How do I prepare the ” false ” custard in the Thermomix?
Add 500g milk, 1 egg, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 packet vanilla sugar and 2 tbsp. starch to the mixing bowl and stir for 6 minutes at 80°C speed 4. If you want to intensify the vanilla taste, you can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Finally you can arrange the custard e.g. in a sauce boat.
Enjoy your meal!
